History of the House

Evergreen is the oldest seat in the realm, raised on the ridge where the first winter pines held their needles while every other wood stood bare. The kingdom took its name from that stubborn green, and the crown has been kept by the same family ever since.

The Prince and the Princess share one crest - an emerald pine crown wreathed in laurel - because the House has always been ruled in pairs: one to endure the season at hand, one to see the season coming.

By long custom the Evergreens open the year and close it. They call the first Journey of Spring and they preside over the Gala, where every House lays out what it has kept and what it has given.

House histories and House words are storytelling for the world of Evergreen. They never change how the game is played.
